Portland police arrest 25-year-old accused of attacking pickup truck driver

A man accused of assaulting a pickup truck driver in Portland, Oregon, has been arrested.

On Friday morning, Marquise Lee Love was booked into the Multnomah County Jail. He’s been charged with assault in the second degree, coercion, and riot.

Portland police received a report Sunday around 10:30 p.m. about protesters chasing a truck near demonstrations, according to a report from the Associated Press, which noted that at some point, the driver crashed and was assaulted.

The driver was a man named Adam Haner, who has broken ribs, bruising, and possible long-term vision damage. He has now been released from the hospital and is recovering.

Since the incident occurred, videos of the aftermath have gone viral.

Daily Caller reporter Jorge Ventura, who witnessed the event, told Fox & Friends on Tuesday, “I actually arrived on scene moments after the vehicle crashed. So as soon as I arrived on the scene, the mob pulled out the victim.” He added, “He did not fight back. Several men punched Adam in the face. He actually hit the ground. When he hit the ground, a female then kicked him in the back of the head, and then we saw a suspect with a vest that said ‘security’ kick him in the head, and that sent Adam unconscious.”

Love’s bail has been set at $260,000.
