The White House issued a statement on Saturday evening on “ongoing dicussions” President Trump held regarding Justice Anthony Kennedy’s soon-to-be-vacated seat on the Supreme Court, following a day of golf at Trump National Golf Club in New Jersey.
“Today, the [p]resident had several calls with White House advisers and others about a range of issues,” White House deputy press secretary Raj Shah explained.
“He also continued his ongoing discussions with White House Counsel Don McGahn on the Supreme Court vacancy,”
It does not appear that the president actually interviewed any of his 25 preferred candidates to fill Kennedy’s seat as earlier reports had indicated would be the case.

Just like in other cities across the nation, immigration protesters descended on the president’s golf course in Bedminster, N.J., earlier on Saturday.
Around 200 protesters gathered outside Trump National Golf Club, many of whom held signs relating to immigration reform, including one that read “Asylum seekers are not criminals,” according to a White House pool report.
Another sign read: “I really do care you should too #begone,” referencing Melania Trump’s recent controversial jacket choice.
