2020 front-runner Joe Biden condemned antifa’s assault against journalist and Quillette editor Andy Ngo last weekend.
Biden “believes violence directed at anyone because of their political opinions is never acceptable, regardless of what those beliefs might be,” a campaign spokesman for the former vice president told the New York Post. “He believes freedom of expression is fundamental to who we are as Americans, and that Andy Ngo’s attackers should be identified and investigated.”
Ngo was covering an the right-wing counterprotest in Portland, Oregon, when some of the demonstrators hit and threw objects at items at him. Ngo was hospitalized and diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage.
Biden is not the first politician to condemn the attack.
