SEE IT: Former NFL player Chad Johnson leaves IHOP server $1,000 tip

Former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson’s first trip to Knoxville, Tennessee, was a memorable one.

Johnson, also known as Chad Ochocinco, was in town to watch the University of Tennessee Volunteers take on the University of Kentucky Wildcats. While visiting a local IHOP restaurant ahead of the game, Johnson left a $1,000 tip for his $14.29 meal.

“Proverbs 11:25 (Knox edition),” Johnson wrote on Twitter, referencing the Bible verse that says, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” Johnson also shared a picture of his receipt.

On the receipt, he wrote to his server: “It’s my first time in the Ville, going to the game tonight but I don’t know the Rocky Top song,” along with a sad face. He also wrote, “I love you,” at the bottom of the receipt.

The IHOP restaurant is located at Merchants Center Boulevard.
