Have America’s true feelings been unmasked?
A new poll found that more than half of respondents were supportive of a mask mandate for traveling.
Fifty-six percent of Americans support requiring masks on “planes, trains, buses, and other means of public transportation,” according to the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research report.
Only 24% of people were found to oppose the travel mandate, and 20% were undecided on their position.

Almost half of respondents also reported that they support mask mandates for crowded events and for workers who often interact with large segments of the public.
Eighty percent of Democrats support a travel mask mandate, according to the poll, while only 33% of Republicans do. 45% of independents are in favor of the measure.
More than half of Democrats polled also supported mandates for large, crowded events and for workers who interact with the public.
People older than 60 were far more likely to support mask mandates than those ages 59 and younger.
The survey of 1,085 adults was conducted April 14-18.
