Motorcyclist dies in Prince George’s County crash

A man riding a motorcycle died after a collision with a vehicle in Prince George’s County Thursday night, police said.

About 10:20 p.m., 32-year-old Bakuba Shabbas Johns was riding a motorcycle westbound on East Capitol Street in Capitol Heights. A 2000 Lincoln Town Car making a left turn from Coolidge Street failed to yield to the motorcyle’s right of way, and the motorcycle struck the car, Prince George’s county police said.

Johns was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The 68-year-old man driving the Lincoln stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police. Authorities said speed and alcohol weren’t factors in the crash.
