The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore celebrates 25 years of ZooBooo fun, now a Baltimore Halloween tradition, this weekend.
This year’s ZooBooo takes place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Zoo in the Waterfowl Lake Pavilion area.
The event includes Baltimore’s safest trick-or-treating, visits from spooky Animal Ambassadors, a costume contest each day, games, crafts, pumpkin painting, a scary hay maze and more.
On the zoo grounds, there will be keeper chats and special animal enrichment activities, including the Elephant Pumpkin Smash, featuring Dolly, Anna, Felix and baby elephant, who will be getting his first-ever pumpkins that weekend.
Zoo guests can also watch as other animals — chimps, leopards, okapi, otters, red-ruffled lemurs, farmyard animals and ravens — receive their own fall treats at different times during the ZooBooo weekend.
The event is free for zoo members and free with paid general zoo admission. Zoo admission is $15 for ages 12 to 64, $12 for seniors 65 and older, $10 for children ages 2 to 11 and free for children under 2.
