Trump campaign slams Clinton over ‘desperate’ press conference

Hillary Clinton tried to recover from her “failed” performance in Wednesday’s Commander in Chief Forum by immediately peddling lies about Donald Trump during a press conference, a senior aide to the Republican presidential nominee said Thursday.

“Last night Hillary Clinton again failed the commander-in-chief test, where she was unable to answer for her terrible foreign policy judgment, mishandling of classified information and claims that the [Department of Veterans Affairs] wait time scandal was overblown,” Jason Miller, a senior policy adviser to Trump, charged in a statement released by the campaign.

Miller said it was unsurprising to see the former secretary of state “resorting to unhinged and dishonest attacks” against her Republican opponent. He pointed to Clinton’s interview with an Israeli television network Thursday morning, during which she claimed that Islamic State militants are “rooting for Donald Trump’s victory.”

“These are the desperate attacks of a flailing campaign sinking in the polls, and characteristics of someone woefully unfit for the presidency of the United States,” Miller said.

Clinton took questions from reporters in New York on Thursday, just hours after she and Trump appeared back-to-back at a defense forum where she was further questioned by veterans about her handling of classified information.
