Christie says he is not coming back to team Trump

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has no plans to rejoin President Trump’s administration.

“Absolutely no intention” to do so, the Republican governor told CNN’s “State of the Union” host Jake Tapper on Sunday. Christie said that has no expectation that would ever happen.

Rumors flew ahead of President Trump’s victory in November that Christie could become attorney general, but he was not tapped for any post in the administration. What’s more, after heading up transition plans before the election, he was ousted from that role soon after Election Day and relegated to outsider status with respect to the Trump White House.

Recent turmoil surrounding senior White House staffers has raised questions about whether Christie might be brought back into the fold.
