Vice President Joe Biden will hit the campaign trail with Hillary Clinton on Friday, July 8 in Scranton, Pa., marking the vice president’s first public appearance with the presumptive Democratic nominee.
Biden considered running Clinton earlier this year, but eventually endorsed the former secretary of state after she became the presumptive Democratic nominee in June. Biden has said he is “confident” she will be the next president and repeatedly criticized Donald Trump’s “racist” rhetoric.
According to Clinton’s campaign, the two Democrats will talk about “their shared commitment to building an America that is stronger together and an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top.”
Biden hopes to help Clinton win over Pennsylvanians, as he is a native of Scranton. Both Clinton and Trump are competing to win over white working class voters, and Biden has traditionally been popular with that demographic.
