Google CEO opens up about YouTube headquarters shooting

Google CEO Sundar Pichai said the company is fully committed to supporting the victims and their families of a shooting at YouTube headquarters Tuesday afternoon.

“I know a lot of you are in shock right now. Over the coming days, we will continue to provide support to help everyone in our Google family heal from this unimaginable tragedy,” Pichai wrote in a statement.

Google, which owns YouTube, is reportedly working with local authorities and hospitals to monitor the situation, which police said left at least four people injured, three from gunshot wounds.

Pichai thanked first responders and the security team at YouTube for acting “so quickly to keep people safe.”

Police said the suspected shooter, a woman, appeared to have taken her own life.
