Gary Johnson scolds Trump’s refusal to concede

Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson scolded Donald Trump on Thursday for the Republican candidate’s refusal to concede if he loses on Election Day.

“Unbelievable,” Johnson said in a statement. “As a former governor, who was elected and served as a Republican in an overwhelmingly Democratic state, I have to say that Donald Trump’s refusal to say he will accept the outcome of an election is just one more straw too many.”

The former New Mexico governor, who is polling in the single digits, lambasted Trump’s “offensive” gesture toward election officials across the nation and at the democratic process itself.

The billionaire businessman has spent recent weeks telling supporters the election system is “rigged.” During the final presidential debate on Wednesday night, Trump would not say whether he would accept a Clinton victory when pressed by moderator Chris Wallace.

“I will tell you at the time. I’ll keep you in suspense,” the Republican nominee said after being asked how he would react if Clinton wins.
