Apparently convinced he isn’t going to see a dime from the Koch brothers, Donald Trump Saturday tweeted that he had turned down a meeting with the GOP mega-donors, dismissively suggesting they meet with political “puppets” instead.
“I turned down a meeting with Charles and David Koch. Much better for them to meet with the puppets of politics, they will do much better!” Trump tweeted.

Politico had reported Friday that things were the other way around — that the Kochs had refused to meet with Trump after being approached by top Trump donors.
The Kochs, who likely will focus their giving on down-ticket candidates instead, have been critical of Trump’s rhetoric and ideas.
