Sean Hannity to Never-Trumpers: ‘Can you admit you were wrong?’

Fox News anchor Sean Hannity joked on Monday that it was good to see his colleague Jeanine Pirro smile after President Trump nominated federal appeals court Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court.

“I like seeing you smile about something. I watch your monologue, you scare me sometimes,” Hannity quipped to his guest Pirro, who has gained a reputation for the fiery openings to her Saturday night show, “Justice with Jeanine.”

Hannity’s own monologue for his eponymous program on Monday was equally upbeat.

“To all of you Never Trumpers out there all across America, you tried so hard to prevent a Trump presidency. Are you happy tonight at all? Can you admit you were wrong at all?” he asked. “Are you happy that this was not Hillary Clinton tonight appointing a judicial activist or a left-wing activist to the Supreme Court?”

Both Hannity and Pirro are staunch Trump supporters.

Trump on Monday named his second nominee to the Supreme Court after the successful appointment of Justice Neil Gorsuch in 2017.

U.S. District Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh, who sits on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, is Trump’s choice to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy. Kennedy announced in June he intended to retire from the court as of July 31 after about 20 years on the bench.
