A Red Line Metro train was damaged Thursday when it struck equipment that was left on the track between the Wheaton and Glenmont stations.No injuries were reported.

The train headed toward Glenmont was damaged on its left side and the operator backed up to the Wheaton platform to let passengers off, according to spokeswoman Taryn McNeil.
