WATCH LIVE: Biden delivers first State of the Union address

President Joe Biden will deliver his first State of the Union address Tuesday amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a period of high inflation, and low presidential approval ratings.

Biden is expected to dedicate some of his speech to his administration’s plans to improve a struggling economy.

“I call it building a better America,” an excerpt of his speech, shared with the Washington Examiner, states.

The battle against Russian President Vladimir Putin’s attempt to seize Ukraine is also expected to be a major focal point.

“Putin’s war was premeditated and unprovoked. He rejected efforts at diplomacy. He thought the West and NATO wouldn’t respond. And, he thought he could divide us here at home. Putin was wrong. We were ready,” Biden will say as part of his prepared remarks.
