Trump calls Juan Williams ‘so pathetic’ and ‘always nasty’

President Trump called Juan Williams “so pathetic” and “always nasty” on Twitter Sunday afternoon.

“Juan Williams at @FoxNews is so pathetic, and yet when he met me in the Fox Building lobby, he couldn’t have been nicer as he asked me to take a picture of him and me for his family,” the president tweeted. “Yet he is always nasty and wrong!”

Trump’s tweet came shortly after Williams was critical of Trump’s tactics on China during his appearance on Fox News Sunday, which re-aired Sunday at 2:00 p.m. EST. He argued that while many agree that he should be tough on the foreign power, “I think Trump’s brutish approach is the problem.”

“It’s not just Democrats who say, ‘Hey, this guy is inartful.’ The Wall Street Journal has said that — he then attacked the Wall Street Journal at a rally this week. But I think that what you see here is that Trump’s unpredictability, Dana, then risks global recession, and you can’t do that. I mean, clearly, unpredictability is something that really scares Wall Street, because it depresses the likelihood of capital investment, which is necessary for stock growth,” Williams added.

Back in July 2016, the president tweeted something nearly identical to his Sunday afternoon critique of Williams:

“I was at @FoxNews and met Juan Williams in passing. He asked if he could have pictures taken with me,” he tweeted at the time. “I said fine. He then trashes on air!”
