Former President Donald Trump asked his supporters Tuesday to donate funds for his new “Trump Force One” plane, days after a plane loaned by a donor made an emergency landing on its return to Florida from New Orleans, Louisiana,
In an email sent through his political action committee, the former president disclosed his team is building a new Trump Force One with its construction currently under wraps. However, he said he would unveil it soon.
“Before becoming the greatest President of all time, I traveled the Country in my plane, known as Trump Force One,” the email said. “I have a very important update on my plane, but I need to trust that you won’t share it with anyone: my team is building a BRAND NEW Trump Force One.”

The email concluded with a GIF of a plane taking off and a poll that asked readers if they wanted to see his new plane. A link in the email also leads supporters to a donation page where they can set up a monthly donation of up to $2,500.
The news comes after a plane lent by a donor had an engine failure over the weekend as Trump returned from a retreat with the Republican National Committee in New Orleans. The engine malfunction forced the plane to land in Louisiana after only being in the air less than 30 minutes. Representatives from the RNC helped Trump find a replacement plane, and he arrived home at his Palm Beach resort at 3 a.m. Sunday.

Trump is known for his love and use of private planes. During his first presidential campaign in 2015-2016, Trump flew on a private Boeing 757 that had his family crest on the pillows and plane headrests and his name depicted on the outside of the plane.
The jet also featured a master bedroom and bathroom that had gold fixtures and an entertainment system. However, the plane fell into disrepair, with one engine shrink-wrapped and the other missing parts as it sits in a New York airport, according to CNN.
