Dim Bulb: National Park Service Director Jon Jarvis

WHAT: While defending his agency’s failure to enforce its own laws against camping illegally in McPherson Square by Occupy DC protesters, Jarvis told a House subcommittee that the prohibition on “sleeping” in the national park applies only to individuals, not groups. “Sleeping and camping is an individual regulation. It’s against an individual, not a group.” WHY IT’S DIM: This occasioned a classic rejoinder from Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C.: “How does a group sleep?”

CURE: How does an NPS head get fired?
