Second person accused of abusing young D.C. summer workers

D.C. police say a contractor doing work at Anacostia High School is the suspect in a second alleged sexual abuse of a participant in the city’s summer youth employment program.

The suspect in the first assault reported to authorities on June 28, has been arrested on sex charges. Thomas D. Nelson, 54, was a file clerk with the Department of Employment Services.

The second suspect in the alleged July 1 incident in which a 19-year-old woman says she was sexually abused has not been charged, police said Wednesday, and authorities continue to investigate the incident. The suspect was doing contract construction work on the high school.
