‘Do I need a face tattoo?’: Joaquin Castro shames MSNBC for confusing him and his brother

Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro chided MSNBC for mistaking him and his brother, Democratic presidential contender Julián Castro, on social media Friday.

“Presidential candidate Julián Castro says he thinks there’s a ‘good chance’ that the House Intelligence Cmte. will speak to the whistleblower,” MSNBC tweeted, with a link to a video of Joaquin Castro getting interviewed by Hallie Jackson on the network. The article’s featured image is a photo of the correct Castro brother.

Castro responded to the mistake on Twitter asking, “You guys @MSNBC know that’s actually me, right? I grew a beard. Do I need a face tattoo?”

Last month, he found himself in some hot water after he published the names of 44 San Antonio residents who donated the maximum amount of money allowed to President Trump’s reelection campaign, arguing that those individuals’ “contributions are fueling a campaign of hate.” Six of the 44 donors that Castro outed also donated to him or his brother.

UPDATE: MSNBC deleted the tweet and posted a correction that reads, “Correction: A previous tweet mistakenly named Joaquin Castro as Julián Castro. That tweet, noted here, has been deleted.”
