Face masks are now optional for all guests at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida after the theme park lifted its last mask requirement on Tuesday.
In February, Disney adjusted its policy only to require face masks for all guests when riding in enclosed transportation, such as the resort’s monorail, buses, and sky gondola. Guests who were not fully vaccinated were also required to wear face masks in indoor locations.
The rule change drops the enclosed transportation requirement. The theme park is now only recommending face coverings for unvaccinated guests when they are indoors.

The move comes one day after a federal judge in Florida overturned the extended federal face mask mandate for planes and public transportation.

Social media reactions included praise and criticism over the rule change, but many still voiced opposition to Disney.
“Excellent, hope this pisses off their groomer fanbase,” a user named Kabuki World tweeted.

One Twitter user reminded those complaining that visiting Disney World is in itself optional.
