Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., are spending the last of the August recess at a meeting in northern Italy.
The senators are at the Ambrosetti Forum, a major economic conference, in Lake Como, Italy, alongside Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats.
McCain said in an Instagram post that he looks forward to discussing “the need for strong American leadership in the world” during the conference on Saturday. McCain was pictured with his wife Cindy at Lake Como.

McCain, who has been battling brain cancer after being diagnosed in July, is expected to return to the Senate next week at the conclusion of the month-long August recess.
