Curt Schilling has a VP suggestion for Trump

Former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling has some ideas for a Donald Trump presidency.

In a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) on the Donald Trump sub-Reddit titled The_Donald on Friday, the former ESPN political analyst and vocal Trump supporter answered user questions and pitched suggestions for the billionaire businessman’s Cabinet.

“Wish he’d appoint Gowdy as his vp!,” Schilling said, referring to Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., who originally supported Marco Rubio for president and later made a tepid endorsement of Trump once Rubio and all of Trump’s GOP rivals dropped out of the race.

The suggestion perhaps coincides with Schilling’s dislike of Democratic presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton, whose campaign has been plagued by an email scandal and who is a leading figure in a select House panel investigation into 2012 attack in Benghazi led by Gowdy.

When asked if he would rather keep his 2001 World Series MVP or see Clinton “rot in a prison cell,” Schilling replied, “The latter.”

Schilling called on Trump to choose former candidate Ben Carson, a retired neurosurgeon, as his surgeon general. He also floated retired Lt. Col. Allen West, a former congressman from Florida, as a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and N.J. Gov. Chris Christie as attorney general.

Schilling even seemed to throw himself into the mix, responding to one user who asked if he ever considers running for office.

“Yes, I do. Depending on how this falls with Mr. Trump,” Schilling said.

Schilling also shared his thoughts on a color scheme for the wall Trump wants to build along the U.S.-Mexico border to stymie illegal immigration.

“Red, White and Blue.”
