Last fall, someone broke into about 30 vehicles in the Gaithersburg area and stole airbags. In most cases, Montgomery County police say, someone broke a window to gain entry.
And in one of those break-ins, the suspect cut himself and left blood in the vehicle. Now, police say a DNA match has led them to a suspect and they’re asking for help in tracking him down.
Police are looking for 25-year-old David Alexander Portillo-Henriquez, who is also known as Augustin Portillo Gonzales. Montgomery County police say he’s known to spend time in Fort Washington and Talbot County in Maryland and Fairfax County in Virginia.
His blood was obtained from a Nov. 9 break-in at a parking garage at 108 Olde Towne Avenue. Police are still investigating whether he’s linked to the other thefts.
