Intern who yelled ‘f–k you’ at Trump suspended, but keeps internship

The congressional intern who said, “Mr. President, fuck you!” to President Trump last week as he entered the U.S. Capitol for a meeting with the House Republican caucus was suspended, but will complete the internship until August, a new report says.

Caitlin Marriott, the 21-year-old intern in the office of Sen. Maggie Hassan, D-N.H., was suspended and had her congressional intern ID badge rescinded following the incident, according to Fox News.

“We are aware of the situation and have taken disciplinary action, including a one-week suspension and revoking her Congressional intern ID badge (thereby restricting her access to the Capitol), in response to her breach of office policies regarding respectful and appropriate conduct. We also facilitated contact with Capitol Police,” said Hassan’s spokesman Aaron Jacobs, according to Fox News.

Marriott shouted the expletive at Trump last week as he entered the office of House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis. She had been standing with a group of interns on the Senate side of the Capitol Rotunda.

Fox News was told that Marriott’s comment was “impulsive” and that the interns had been joking about yelling to Trump. Marriot was reportedly “egged on” by other interns to shout the obscenity.
