LOWER EXPECTATIONS: United Parcel Service Inc., the world’s largest package delivery company, lowered its full-year forecast because it sees a weakening global economy for the remainder of the year. It’s second-quarter earnings report fell short of Wall Street expectations.
US AND ABROAD: Revenue in the second-quarter rose 1.2 percent overall. In the U.S., revenue rose 4 percent from a year earlier, driven by a higher volume of packages. Overseas, revenue fell 4 percent, due in part to lower exports from Asia.
