Lockdown lifted at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona

Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, home of the famous aircraft bone yard for excess military planes, was locked down for more than an hour Monday after reports of gunshot sounds on the base.

The Tucson, Arizona base announced the lockdown on Facebook Monday afternoon.

“There are unconfirmed reports of gun shot sounds. Seek shelter immediately. More updates will come once they are available,” the base posted.

Just after 1:30 p.m. Monday, the base posted the all clear.

“ALL CLEAR, the lock down has been lifted. Base personnel are free to resume all normal operations. We will continue with updates as they become available,” the base posted.

There were no reports of injuries.
