Street sweeper kills New York sanitation worker

NEW YORK (AP) — A New York City sanitation worker is dead after being pinned between street sweeper at a Queens depot.

Police say Steven Frosch was performing maintenance work on his street sweeper around 1 p.m. Saturday when another sweeper struck him.

The impact left the 43-year-old Frosch unconscious and unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Frosch lived in Garden City South on Long Island. Mayor Bill de Blasio says he leaves behind a wife and four children.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
