Make way for the king.
Officials from the PAETEC Jazz Festival-Baltimore announced Wednesday that the legendary King of Blues B.B. King will be headlining a concert on the final day of the festival.
The concert, which will take place at the Pier Six Concert Pavilion, also will feature performances from jazz icons Al Green and Etta James & the Roots Band.
“It?s not often that three major legends such as these giants appear on the same bill, on the same date,” said John Nugent, artistic director and co-producer of the festival. “The music fans of Baltimore are in for a great thrill.”
The festival, which takes place Aug. 9 to 11 in Baltimore City?s Inner Harbor and downtown area, will include more than 40 jazz concerts and performances.
“It?s a signature event for Baltimore City,” said Nancy Hines, vice president of public affairs for the Baltimore Area Convention and Visitors Association. “The festival is a new event to market and promote to bring regional visitors into the city duringthe summer. We are very excited.”
Tickets, which range from $49 to $135, will go on sale Friday and are available through www.ticketmaster.com.
