Every public elementary school student will get FluMist vaccinations, and a bus operator will get $90,000 thanks to the Anne Arundel Council.
County officials expect to have 15,000 doses of the nasal spray vaccine that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says is highly effective in children.
Funding also was approved to keep the Connect-A-Ride service afloat in the county.
Operated by Laurel-based Corridor Transportation Corp., the service faces a reduction after rising fuel costs and a new labor contract caused a budget deficit.
CTC officials said service would be reduced on weekends and non-rush times, but only one rarely used route would be cut in the county.
The council approved funding for both projects during Tuesday?s meeting.
