GOP sees border enforcement boost under Gen. Kelly

Senate Republicans on Tuesday will welcome retired Marine Gen. John Kelly as President-elect Trump’s nominee to lead the Department of Homeland Security, which the GOP says has shirked its responsibility to ensure protect the U.S. border.

DHS is a giant agency that was formed after the 9/11 attacks. Its authorities range from waterways to cyberspace, as well as dealing with natural disasters through the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
