Concerned parents in New York City launched a billboard campaign against “woke” lessons that are being taught in some of the city’s most prestigious schools.
“TEACH HOW TO THINK, NOT WHAT TO THINK,” one billboard reads. Another says, “DIVERSITY NOT INDOCTRINATION.”
“WOKE SCHOOL? SPEAK OUT,” another says.
The $10,000 campaign was launched by a group of anonymous parents who call themselves “Prep School Accountability” and entails mobile billboards sitting outside six of the city’s private schools, including the Brearley School, the Dalton School, and Trinity School.
The billboards will be on display during both drop-off and pickup hours outside the schools on Monday.
“In recent years, a new orthodoxy has emerged at our schools, dividing our communities based on immutable characteristics such as race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation,” Prep School Accountability’s website reads.
“As a result, the core tenets of high-quality education — uniting all children and families through a love and appreciation for learning and community spirit — have gone by the wayside,” the website continues. “Schools should unite us, not divide us. To save our schools, administrators must ensure academic rigor and intellectual integrity are requirements of any core curriculum while respecting parents as the primary moral educators of their children.”
The billboard protest comes after months of various reports detailing how prestigious New York City schools have embraced lessons on “anti-racism” and critical race theory.

Parents, and even some teachers at the schools, have spoken out against the lessons, with journalist Megyn Kelly saying last year that she pulled her children out of a New York City school after it promoted the “reform” of white children’s racial biases.
“We pulled our boys from their school, and our daughter is going to be leaving hers soon, too,” Kelly said in November. “The schools have always been far-left, which doesn’t align with my own ideology, but I didn’t really care. Most of my friends are liberals. It’s fine. I come from Democrats as a family.”
