About 400 people gathered on the north side of the White House Wednesday evening for a candlelight vigil, intending to unify those who do not support President-elect Donald Trump.

The gathering in Lafayette Park was organized by Democracy in Action’s Moveon.org, which held events across the country Wednesday “to affirm our continued rejection of Trump’s bigotry, xenophobia, Islamophobia and misogyny — and demonstrate our resolve to keep fighting.”
The demonstrators, mostly millennials, sang indiscernible lyrics by Chance the Rapper, a favorite hip-hop performer of President Obama’s.
Another candlelight vigil at Lafayette Park has been scheduled for Saturday night. About 700 Washington-area residents say they plan to attend the demonstration in opposition of the 45th president.
