Dana Rohrabacher suggests YouTube shooting suspect could be illegal immigrant

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., raised the possibility that the suspected shooter at YouTube headquarters Tuesday afternoon could be an illegal immigrant, although the only information provided so far is that the suspect is a female.

“You were going to discuss with me sanctuary cities and the sanctuary state movement and it fits right in to what you’re talking about right now,” Rohrabacher said on Fox Business, referring to his state’s controversial laws regarding immigration law enforcement. “Would anyone be surprised? We have a state government in California that’s trying to prevent our law enforcement people from working with the federal law enforcement people to get together the criminal illegal aliens.”

“Would anyone right now when listening to you right now think, ‘Well, this certainly wouldn’t be an illegal immigrant there.’ Well it could be! Everyone knows that it could be,” he added.

San Bruno Police chief Ed Barberini told reporters Tuesday afternoon that at least three people were injured in the attack, and one more, a female shooting suspect, died from apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Justice Department sued California in federal court last month over the trio of “sanctuary” state laws, which the Trump administration argues are pre-empted by federal law and thus unconstitutional.
