News Summary: Chevy’s money-back guarantee

Published July 10, 2012 3:41pm ET

THE OFFER: Chevrolet is trying to pull more customers into its dealerships this summer with a money-back guarantee for anyone who buys a car or truck.

THE DETAILS: Buyers can return any newly purchased 2012 or 2013 model for up to 60 days and they’ll get a refund of the purchase price. The offer ends Sept. 4. Customers will get the same discounted price that GM offers to employees of parts supply companies, plus any other discounts such as rebates or low-interest financing.

THE REASON: Chevrolet is trying to boost sales. The General Motors brand’s U.S. sales are up 6.3 percent through the first half of the year, but it’s growing at only half the rate of overall U.S. auto sales.
