Byron Donalds accuses AOC of crying ‘fake tears’ during speech defending Ilhan Omar

Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) slammed Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) for her “fake tears” during an emotional speech speaking against the ousting of her fellow “Squad” member Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

“She was in rare form yesterday. She was saying how there was a member of the House who threatened her life and got put on committees. Well, she’s talking about Paul Gosar,” Donalds told a Washington, D.C., radio station on Friday. “But during the speaker’s debate a month ago, she caught on ‘Bad Lip Reading’ having a full-throated conversation with Paul Gosar.”

Donalds added, “That’s how much of this is just drama. … If you’re threatening my life, I’m not having a conversation with you. I don’t want you in my orbit. … She was on the floor talking to the man a month ago, and now she wants to come out here with fake tears talking about how she was threatened.”

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) had House members vote on a resolution to remove Omar from the committee over past antisemitic remarks. Ocasio-Cortez had ripped into Republicans on Thursday on the House floor claiming the removal of Omar was racist and that she wanted an apology for death threats.

“This is about targeting women of color in the United States of America. I didn’t get a single apology when my life was threatened!” she yelled.

Donalds told WMAL’s O’Connor and Company radio program that the Democrats had “two times to censure” Omar in the House but they “either watered it down or tabled it.”

“So when they didn’t take care of something in their own House, now we gotta take care of it for them. It’s that simple,” Donalds said.
