Office fire called arson

Baltimore County fire officials said an early-morning blaze in a Dundalk office building that left one firefighter injured Monday was the product of arson.

The three-alarm fire broke out in the basement and on the fourth floor of the five-story Dundalk Professional Center at 40 South Dundalk St. about 1:30 a.m. Monday, said Elise Armacost, a fire department spokeswoman. County and city crews with about 23 units took more than two hours to contain the blaze, which left the fourth floor gutted, she said.

A city firefighter was transported to Mercy Hospital with minor injuries, she said.Officials are investigating the fire as an arson.

“There were multiple points of origin, which is almost always an indication a fire was set,” Armacost said.
