The Office of Personnel Management is considering letting federal employees in Washington leave early on Monday, as freezing rain was expected to hit the nation’s capital in the afternoon.
“OPM is monitoring the forecast & is in coordination w/the NTL Weather Service, Depts of Transportation, public transit providers, & other regional partners to determine if a change in the operating status is warranted,” OPM tweeted. “At this time, the Federal Government will remain OPEN.”
Many schools around the Washington area were still closed Monday in anticipation of the storm, after they were closed late last week due to snow and ice. The federal government gave local employees a two-hour delay last Thursday due to morning weather.
