Michelle Obama: It’s been ‘the honor of a lifetime’ serving as first lady

Michelle Obama says it’s been the honor of a lifetime serving as first lady for the last eight years.

“Being your First Lady has been the honor of a lifetime. From the bottom of my heart, thank you,” Obama captioned an Instagram photo of her and President Obama on a White House balcony looking at the Washington Monument.

Obama also took a bittersweet stroll through the White House in a video posted on her Instagram.

“Taking it in on one last walk through the People’s House,” the caption on the 30-second video reads.

Obama has said she is looking forward to leaving the White House and the security detail that comes with it.

But in an interview with Jimmy Fallon last week, she said moving out of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue has surprisingly been emotional.
