‘Solo’ star Donald Glover: Playing a role in ‘Star Wars’ feels like being a part of the Bible

A chance to play a role in the “Star Wars” franchise is akin to appearing in the Bible, said Donald Glover, a star in the “Solo: A Star Wars Story” film.

Glover made the comment during a red carpet appearance at the world premiere for his new movie in Los Angeles on Thursday.

“It feels like I’m getting to be part of the Bible or something. It feels like I get to be something original but also something as old as time,” he said to the Hollywood Reporter, adding that he feels “very lucky” to be a part of the veneragle film series and doesn’t take his role as a young Lando Calrissian lightly.

Lando Calrissian was originally played by Billy Dee Williams in the original “Star Wars” trilogy. In the new film that will open in theaters everywhere on May 25, Glover appears alongside Alden Ehrenreich, who plays a younger version of smuggler Han Solo.

Glover, who has a hit TV show “Atlanta” on FX, also is a Grammy-winning singer, going by the stage name Childish Gambino.
