The rollercoaster that is the sequel to “Dumb and Dumber” might be slowing down. Directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly tweeted on Tuesday that they are close to finishing the script for the film, set to be called “Dumb and Dumber To.” “We are almost done with the ‘Dumb and Dumber To’ (sic) script,” they tweeted, one of them adding “I think you’re going to like it.” There have been a lot of up and downs with getting the film started. In 2011, it was announced the brothers would do the sequel, but this summer, Jim Carrey reportedly backed out. A few months later, however, Jeff Daniels said that wasn’t the case and that things were good to go. Daniels told Crave Online that he thinks filming will start sometime next year, after he is finished filming the next season of “The Newsoom.” That would push the release date of the movie to 2014, which is 20 years after the release of the original.
