Kanye West released a new song Friday, which he dedicated to DJ Ebro Darden, who has been an outspoken critic of the rapper’s recent support for figures on the Right, including President Trump.
In the song, titled, “Lift Yourself,” West raps a short verse with largely nonsensical lyrics, including: “Poopy-di scoop/Scoop-diddy-whoop/Whoop-di-scoop-di-poop.”
According to the website Genius, the new tune features a sample from the 1973 song, “Liberty,” by Amnesty, and contains the chorus: “Lift yourself upon your feet, let’s get it on.”

The release of the song comes after Darden slammed West for being out of touch with issues facing the black community, and also disclosed that West told him he is a fan of Trump.
Earlier in the day Friday, West teased a new song “with a verse that will bring Ebro the closure he’s been seeking.”

In response, Darden accused West of being a troll.
“We already knew you was #TrollYeWest,” Darden tweeted Friday night.

Over the past week, West turned heads with his tweets showing support for Turning Point’s Candace Owens and Trump.
On Wednesday, West said although he doesn’t agree with all of Trump’s actions, “the mob can’t make me not love him [Trump].”
West has been subject to a great deal of backlash, including from friends and fellow music artists, while Trump thanked him for the show of love.
“I get along with Kanye. I get along with a lot of people, frankly. But Kanye looks and he sees black unemployment at the lowest it’s been in the history of our country, OK? He sees Hispanic unemployment at the lowest it’s been in the history of our country. He sees, by the way female unemployment, women unemployment, the lowest it’s been in now almost 19 years,” Trump told “Fox and Friends” Thursday. “He sees that stuff and he’s smart.”
