Comedian Aziz Ansari took the Emmy stage Sunday night to lampoon Donald Trump’s rhetoric concerning certain minority groups.
“After careful consideration, I have decided to go with Trump. And that is why I am recommending we get rid of all Muslims and Hispanics from this ceremony immediately,” Ansari, who is of Indian descent, joked.
He immediately followed that by quipping, “This would be so much easier if we were at the Oscars,” a dig at the Academy of Motion Pictures and Television nominating all white actors and actresses for Oscars two years in a row.
Ansari proceeded to point out specific people he wanted to be kicked out of the Emmys, including his parents, Latina actress America Ferrera and Jeffrey Tambor, who plays a transgender woman on Amazon’s “Transparent.’
