A woman is dead and two others are wounded after late-night stabbings in Norway.
Police have arrested a 31-year-old Norwegian man, who has not yet been named, and said he appeared to have a relationship with two of the women, but not the one who was killed.
The attack occurred in the southern city of Sarpsborg and resulted in a heavy police and law enforcement presence there, according to the BBC. The city center was placed on lockdown, and residents of Sarpsborg were told to shelter inside.
One of the women was stabbed at a bus station and another inside her home. Her husband told Sarpsborg Arbeiderblad that his wife was stabbed in the arm.
“We were sitting watching TV, and there was a knock at the door. When I opened it, he tried to stab me, but I got away,” he recounted.
The suspect has been charged with murder and attempted murder, and police are reportedly looking into whether mental health was a factor.
