Hasan Minhaj: I’ll be talking about Trump’s first 100 days at correspondents’ dinner

Hasan Minhaj, the host of Friday’s White House Correspondents’ dinner, said ahead of the event that he would be talking a lot about President Trump’s first 100 days in office.

Minhaj, a correspondent for the “Daily Show,” will emcee the event and deliver a comedy skit. The event typically features a roast of the president, but Trump declined an invitation to this year’s event and is holding a rally in Harrisburg, Pa.

“It’s going to be very interesting,” Minhaj said on MSNBC of Trump’s absence from the event. “It’s going to be very different.

Minhaj said the past 100 days of Trump’s presidency for him have involved “a lot of coffee” and “very little sleep.”

Asked whether he prepared differently for the event than he did for the “Daily Show,” Minhaj replied, “I never wear a tux on the ‘Daily Show’, and usually I’m playing a fake journalist so it’s going to be interesting.”
