President Trump’s upcoming military parade in Washington, D.C., is expected to cost roughly $12 million, according to defense officials.
The parade was originally planned after Trump attended a similar military parade in France and declared he wanted one to take place in the United States to celebrate American armed forces. After months of speculation, it’s set to take place on Nov. 10, just one day before the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.
The public display of military might isn’t going to be cheap, however. Three defense officials familiar with the parade told CNN that it is expected to cost approximately $12 million, but noted that the cost could still change.
Earlier this month, the Pentagon announced that it was canceling U.S.-South Korea military exercises that were estimated to cost around $14 million dollars. The president said in a tweet that the U.S. was saving “a fortune” by canceling the exercise, but has not commented on the price tag for the parade.
The parade is expected to celebrate veterans throughout the years and will feature flyover demonstrations of U.S. military aircraft.
