BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Three former employees of a western New York trading card business have admitted stealing $1.3 million by taking advantage of a flaw in the computer software their employer used.
The Erie County District Attorney’s Office says the men face up to 15 years in prison when they’re sentenced in January. They pleaded guilty to grand larceny charges in Buffalo Friday.
Prosecutors say Aaron Hollars, Anthony Martone and David Woods were salesmen at Dave and Adam’s Card World when they exploited a flaw in the software that the business used to process retail transactions.
The thefts took place between January of 2013 and this past July.
