Dunkin’ Donuts owner fatally shoots robber

The owner of a Dunkin’ Donuts in Laurel fatally shot a man who attempted to rob the store, Anne Arundel County police said.

Police said the shooting happened at about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday at the donut shop on the 3400 block of Laurel Fort Meade Road.

A man entered the store, implied he had a weapon and announced a robbery, police said. The suspect was shot during a struggle with the owner.

The suspect later died at a hospital.
