Media personality Megyn Kelly explained the necessity of intentionality and proactive communication, noting her 15 years of marriage to husband Doug Brunt has proven to be more than a dream.
During her SiriusXM Megyn Kelly Show, Kelly was joined by Brunt to discuss the inspiration behind his Dedicated podcast and said their relationship began as a “whirlwind romance.”

“I was mesmerized by you and remain mesmerized by you,” Kelly said of Brunt. “There’s a journal entry that I kept at the time that has a picture of you. I wrote something to the effect of, ‘Is it possible that this guy loves me and isn’t a serial killer? There’s got to be a shoe to drop here because he’s too good.’ And now, I’m happy to say, 15 years of marriage later, it’s not fake, you’re real, you’re just as awesome as I always knew you were.”
Kelly admitted she and Brunt had to come to terms with the public component of their relationship shortly after beginning to date, noting that while “so many marriages struggle,” theirs has grown to become something that is “working so well consistently.”
“You’re very proactive about putting in the work,” Brunt said to Kelly. “Obviously, as everyone should know, it’s not all rainbows and unicorns with us. We work on things. We have very frank and honest conversations with each other when we find something annoying.”

“Of course, there are those moments in every marriage,” Brunt added. “We don’t let that fester. We just put it on the table and talk it through, and I think we are honest with ourselves and each other about it.”
